Two: fall and spring
NEACLC is a language and culture school. We have taught classes to prepare standard tests such as AP Chinese. Over the years, our students have also learned Chinese abacus, origami, paper-cutting, calligraphy, Chinese folk dancing, Chinese yo-yo, Chinese knotting, Chinese chess, traditional holiday celebrations with food making.
If we have enough interest, we plan to add on-going, short-term (say 4-week-session) culture themed classes as an enrichment program for language or non-language learning students in the community.

We have mixed-age classrooms. We group our students based on their age and language proficiency.
It was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) during August 2016 to fill the void resulting from the closure of the 40-year old Amherst Chinese School (ACS).
While its mission is similar to that of both the ACS and the PVCICS, it is independent and separate from them. The NEACLC has three major classes of stakeholders, its three volunteer directors, seven teachers whom are provided with a small stipend that compensates for their out-of-pocket expenses and, the students, who pay a modest fee.
Yes and it is automatically factored in tuition when you register more than one child from the same household. First student pays full fee; 2nd student from the same family receives 10% off; 3rd student and 4th students from the same family receive 15% off.
